Every year, from early spring through the summer, the mighty Kern River, swollen with High Sierra snow melt and rain water, tempts brave adventurers to navigate her swirling rapids. We're on the Upper Kern, well above the protective dam that impounds and slows the river's waters to form Lake Isabella. Near Kernville, we join the intrepid crew of Ship 11, on a joint outing with Troop 39, as they take the challenge, lead by the staff of Sierra South Adventures, some of the best high adventure guides in the business.
